What programs and services does the VFW provide?

Since its founding in 1899, the VFW has enacted many programs and services geared to meet the current needs of America’s service members, veterans and military families, as well as to meet community needs worldwide. VA claims assistance, legislative advocacy, troop support programs, youth activities, community service and scholarship are a few of the ways we work to give back to those who’ve given so much for all of us. 

At Post 2788, we support Veterans with a focus on Fremont County, CO and surrounding areas. We are open to the public and spend much of our time interacting with the local community to support not only Veterans, but local businesses and community projects. We are an active participant in Apple Day festivities, The Penrose VFW Car Show and many other activities, raising funds to support local Veterans and National programs.
